Review:

Mould - This mould has some big flaws. Nose is way off. It's way to pointy, and the area around the cockpit window is completely wrong. The nose, and main landing gear look like they were just sticks with tires glued on. The area where the wings meat the fuselage are moulded incorrectly, and the engines aren't the right shape. The list goes on. However, there were some things they got right. The dimensions are all correct, and the tail area around the vertical stabilizers is actually done quite well. If you look at a Airbus A340-600 closely you'll see that there are actually bulges around the horizontal stabilizers, which Risesoon/SkyMarks has captured very well.

Overall I give the mould a 6.0 out of 10.

Livery - The livery is off in a lot of places. The lines are slightly too small. The colors are all off, the orange being the worst. The placement of the livery is mostly correct, except for the lines being slightly thin. Where the lines narrow towards the tail is also very overstated, and they get way to thin at that point in the livery.

Overall I give the livery a 5.1 out of 10.

Details - As a lot of Risesoon/SkyMarks models are. This model is lacking a lot of details. The cockpit windows are incorrect, there are no antennas at all. No APU is marked, and there are pitot tubes, static ports, and lights not marked. The wings and horizontal stabilizers have no detail at all. The engines have no detailing at all. As mentioned above the landing gear are completely wrong, and therefor have no details at all. There are even logos on the real aircraft that have been there since it was delivered that are not present on the model. The lack of detail on this model is overwhelmingly it's downfall.

Overall I give the details a 4.1 out of 10.

Value for money - I'm no longer giving this category a points value because I don't want the availability of the model affect the overall score, but I am still going to cover it in the reviews. This model can be picked up for right over $30.00, which for a model of this size is pretty cheap. Similar sized metal models will set you back $90.00 or more. Everyone should keep in mind too that Herpa has announced that they will soon be releasing a 1:200 Iberia A340-600, and I can guarantee it will be better. It will probably be around $50.00-$65.00, and I would recommend waiting for it. You'll be happier with it.

Overview - The models mould is incorrect, the livery isn't correct, and the detailing is not good at all. If there is anything nice to say it's that this is the cheapest option for a A340-600 in 1:200, but at the same time if it were any more expensive no one would buy it. It honestly ins't worth $30.00. My suggestions are to wait for the Herpa version. it will be much better detailed, the mould is better, and the livery will be more accurate, and even though it will probably be double the price it will be worth it.

Overall the model receives a 5.1 out of 10

MODEL REVIEW - Hogan Wings 1:200 United Airlines Boeing 777-222

Review:

Mould - The mould is actually very good. The overall shape and features of the 777-200 are captured very well. The one major issue with the mould is that the engine pylons are very very off from what the real aircraft's look like. There really isn't much else to say about the mould. Overall it is a great mould, but the model falls short in other areas.

Overall I give the mould a 8.5 out of 10.

Livery - The livery has some big problems on this model. The colors are a little to dark, the blue lines down the fuselage are placed to low, the tulip logo on the tail is place incorrectly, and even the Star Alliance logo and other markings like the registration are incorrectly placed. It's almost as if Hogan just said, "make it this color and do whatever..." and even the color is wrong. On a positive note the smaller tulip logo and United titles are correctly placed.

Overall I give the livery a 3.5 out of 10.

Details - Again like the livery this model has virtually no details. Basically it has windows and doors. No pitot tubes, no static ports, no lights, no antennas, no details on the engines at all, no markings, and no wing details what so ever. Also, as a result of the blue lines being placed to low the passenger windows are placed to low as well. It does have a marked AUP exhaust, and from what I can tell the cockpit windows are correctly placed too. It also does come with spinning engines fans like most Hogan's, and does have the Star Alliance logo, registration, and the flag even though they are incorrectly placed.

Overall I give the details a 3.8 out of 10.

Value for money - Like most Hogan's the value for money is extremely good. It can be picked up at most normal retailers for less than or right around $26.00. Similar diecast models will set you back close to if not more than $100.00. So at 1/4th the cost even with major issues in the livery, and details areas it is extremely good value for money.

Overall I give the value for money a 10 out of 10.

Overall - The model is lacking in the details, and livery, but makes up for that in the excellent mould, and value. There is no way to get around the $26.00 price tag, and for a display on a shelf most people will never notice the flaws listed above, and like all Hogan's it comes with landing gear, gear up configuration, and a stand.

Overall the model receives a 6.5 out of 10.

MODEL REVIEW - Hogan Wings 1:200 US Airways Boeing 757-2B7WL

Review:

Mould - Hogan's Boeing 757-200 mould is not the best 757 mould. There are other moulds that simply catch the 757 better, however there is nothing majorly wrong with the mould. If I were to nitpick at any part of the mould it would be the ends around the nose and tail areas. The nose of the model is not quite as pointy as the real thing, and as a result looks a bit fat. The same goes for the tail, although I feel Hogan has the thickness right the tail like the nose seems to not be pointy enough.

Overall I give the mould a 6.0 out of 10.

Livery - Hogan has captured the US Airways livery very well. The colors seem to be accurate to the real thing, and for the most part is correctly placed. The one very noticeable flaw is the silver lines of the flag moving towards the tail of the aircraft. They are simply not fat enough, and don't connect in the proper places. Also the winglets could have been painted better.

Overall I give the livery a 6.5 out of 10

Details - Hogan models, especially their narrow bodied aircraft, lack many details that similar metal models have. This model in particular has no antennas, pitot tube, or light markings what so ever. The engines and pylons are also very vague in terms of detail, and could be majorly improved. Also the Star Alliance logo is too small. However, the model does have extra detailing on the wings and horizontal stabilizers. It also has a marked APU exhaust, improved cockpit windows, the US Airways heritage badge, spinning engine fans, and extra undercarriage detail

Overall I give the details a 5.0 out of 10.

Value for money - Although this model doesn't score great across the board, especially on details, it can be picked for as little as $19.00. Similar metal versions will set you back at least $50.00 if not more. You also receive a stand, landing gear, and gear up configuration with the model so their won't be any additional costs down the road to add parts.

Overall I give the value for money a 10 out of 10.

Overview - The model lacks a lot of details, and the mould could use some work, but there simply isn't better value for money. At only $19.00 it is serious value for money and overall represents the real aircraft quite well. The value for money category really helps the models overall score out on this one.

Overall the model receives a 6.9 out of 10.
